Gwadar (Gawadar or Gwadur)

It was under Omani possession during much of the 1800's to early 1900's. It is a port city in southwestern of Pakistan, on the Baluchistani coast about 45 miles (72 km.) away from the Iranian border. The first ship anchored in the Gwadar port on March 15, 2008. It was a Canadian ship carrying wheat and was also the largest ship to anchor in Pakistan.
